"Honestly, this worked way better than I expected"
I filed everything right from my phone on a whim, and it was actually super easy. I kept expecting some annoying glitch to pop up, but nope — no issues at all.

"Decent deal, got the job done"
I don’t have the patience to mess around with tax stuff for too long, so I was glad this was straightforward and worth the price.

"Billing seemed a little sketchy at first, but it got sorted"
I used TaxAct for my taxes the actual filing part was straightforward. I didn’t have much trouble getting through the forms, but when I got to the final price, I kind of paused because it was higher than what I thought I was signing up for.
The payment went through, but I’ll admit I was suspicious for a minute and checked my card statement more than once because I thought maybe I’d been charged something extra. I contacted support, and they explained what the charges were, which did make sense once they broke it down.
Overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience, just a little frustrating on the billing side. I’d probably use TaxAct again, but I’d definitely pay closer attention next time because I still think the pricing could be a lot clearer upfront.

"Refund tracking was simple enough"
I was a little annoyed that I had to go looking for my refund in the first place, but to be fair, the tracking was easy to use and I found the status quickly.

"Support was really helpful"
I had an issue with my taxes. Support got back to me fast. They walked me through it. I got it fixed without much stress...
"Import worked, but it needed a little fixing"
The import went okaaaay overall, but a few things were missing afterward. I had to go back in and clean some stuff up, so it wasn’t totally smooth, but it did get the job done.

"Had the forms I was looking for"
I ended up using taxact this year mostly because it actually had the forms I needed. A couple of them were kind of buried or weirdly hard to find on other sites, so that was a relief. It got me through my W-2, 1099s, and some investment stuff without me feeling stuck or having to... you know, dig around forever. Overall it was easy, and I’d probably use it again.

"I looked at TurboTax and H&R Block..."
I looked at TurboTax and H&R Block too, but Tax Act ended up feeling the simplest for me. It wasn’t as expensive, and I didn’t feel like I was constantly being pushed into upgrades. I was able to get through my return without much stress, so compared to the other options, this one was just less of a hassle.

"Not as pushy as I thought it’d be"
I’ve used taxact a couple of times now, it’s been easy to get through. There were a few upgrade offers here and there, but I never felt like I was being cornered into paying for something I didn’t need, if that makes sense. I was able to skip the extras and just finish my taxes without it turning into a whole stressful thing. The price felt reasonable to me too. I’d probably use it again next year.
"Got back into my account with no hassle"
I needed to log in to my TaxAct account after not using it for a while, it was way easier than I thought it’d be.
The password reset was simple, the email showed up fast, and once I got back in, my old info was still there. I didn’t have to call support or wait around trying to figure things out.
That’s really all I was hoping for. I got access without any drama and was able to get right back to working on my taxes
"Caught the little mistakes fast"
I made a couple small mistakes on my forms, like one number in the wrong box, and TaxAct pointed them out right away. I liked that it showed exactly where to look, so I wasn’t scrolling around trying to guess. Fixed everything quickly and got my return filed without getting stuck.

"Got me close, but I didn’t fully trust it"
taxact did a decent job overall. Most of my information came through correctly, and the final numbers were pretty much what I was expecting. I also appreciated that it flagged a couple of small things before I submitted, which definitely helped.
That said, I didn’t feel comfortable just trusting it and moving on. One form didn’t import quite right at first, so I ended up going back through each section to make sure everything looked okay. It wasn’t a bad experience, but it didn’t feel totally smooth either. Three stars seems about right.

"Tax Act was easy to use overall..."
Tax Act was easy to use overall, and I didn’t run into any major issues. From what I could tell, they have the usual login checks and security steps in place, so it didn’t feel unsafe. Still, when I’m uploading tax documents and personal info, I personally like to see a little more explanation about how everything is protected. Maybe it’s just me being cautious, but I would’ve felt better if they made that clearer. It’s not a bad service by any means, I just think they could do a better job spelling out the security side

"Fees popped up, right at the end"
taxact worked fine overall, but I got annoyed when extra fees started showing up near the end. It wasn’t horrible, or anything, but it did feel a little sneaky, and that kind of took away from the experience.

"State filing was easy"
I used Tax Act for my state return this year, and overall it went smoothly. A couple of the questions made me stop and think for a minute, but once I figured those out, the filing process was quick. Everything got accepted without any issues, which was a relief. I ended up feeling like it was a simple, stress-free way to get my state taxes done.

"Pretty easy to get through"
I’d say TaxAct was simple to use this year. It walked me through most of the steps in a way that didn’t feel too confusing. It took maybe a little less time than I thought it would, and I didn’t feel nearly as lost as I usually do when dealing with taxes.

"A little wait, but it worked out"
I had to wait about 20 minutes, which felt a bit longer than I expected, but it wasn’t too bad overall. Once I got to the rep, they were really nice and handled my issue quickly, so I left feeling like it was worth the wait.

"Made the whole audit thing easier"
I was dealing with an audit situation and didn’t really know what to expect. They helped me through the parts I was stuck on and made it feel a lot less stressful than it could’ve been.

"Clear price from the start"
I really appreciated that TaxAct showed the price clearly before I got too far into filing. I’ve used other tax sites where you get hit with some surprise fee at the end, which is ridiculous. With TaxAct, I knew what I was paying for upfront, and that made the whole process feel less stressful. Simple, fair, and easy enough for me.

"Decent for filing, but deduction help could be better"
Not gonna lie, Tax Act was fine for getting my taxes filed, but the deduction guidance felt a little surface-level. It caught some of the obvious stuff, which was helpful, but I still ended up googling a few things because I wasn’t totally sure if I was missing anything.
It did get the job done in the end, so I can’t complain too much. I just wish the explanations were clearer when it came to deductions that aren’t super straightforward.
